What’s included?

Annual boiler service

Our experienced gas engineer will thoroughly inspect and service your boiler to ensure it is safe to use and performing at optimal efficiency.

Full system health check

We will thoroughly check your heating system including airing cupboards, radiators, valves and filters to ensure there are no leaks or developing issues

Service certificate

On completion of a successful boiler service our engineer will issue you with a digital copy of your annual gas safety certificate for your records.

Priority response

As a care plan customer, you will receive priority bookings for all service and repair appointments giving you our highest priority when you need it.

Additional discounts

30% discount on any call out fees and 10% on all plumbing repairs, installations, or upgrades to your heating system for the duration of your Service Care Plan.

Gas safe engineer

All work undertaken at Alight Heating and Plumbing is carried out by a fully qualified and insured Gas Safe registered engineer.

Why do I need to get my boiler serviced every year?

All boilers should be serviced at least once a year. This is to make sure that your boiler remains safe to use, performs efficiently and is free from gas or water leaks. Having your boiler serviced regularly by a Gas Safe Registered engineer reduces the chance of any potential issues or boiler breakdowns, saving you money on expensive repairs.

New boilers often come with a 5–12-year manufacturer’s warranty and having an annual service is vital to keep your warranty valid.

What is included in an annual boiler service?

Our boiler service checks vital safety and efficiency operations including:

·      Checking of boiler seals and gaskets
·      Cleaning of boiler condensation trap
·      Checking and cleaning of boiler heat exchanger (if required)
·      Lubricating of fan (if required)
·      Cleaning of boiler injector (if required)
·      Checking and cleaning of boiler electrodes
·      Checking and adjusting of boiler emissions
·      Checking and topping up boiler expansion vessel and boiler pressure
·      Checking for water and gas leaks

On every boiler service visit we will also:

·      Clean heating filters (if required)
·      Check and bleed radiators (if required)
·      Test carbon monoxide alarm
·      Check for system leaks
·      Check airing cupboard and motorised valves (if required)

Any issues found on a service visit, we will advise and offer a quotation if required.

Can a LPG or Electric boiler be services under this Annual Care Plan?

This Service Care Plan is unfortunately only suitable for gas boilers.

What happens after I sign up to the boiler service care plan?

Once you sign up to our Boiler Service Care Plan, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time for your first service.

How do I schedule a service appointment under the care plan?

As a service care plan customer, you will have priority booking. We will remind you via a text message or phone call when a service is due to arrange a convenient appointment time.

Are the monthly payments taken from my account as a direct debit?

Service Care Plan payments are taken from a customer’s account as a recurring monthly payment. Payments will be collected on/or around the same day you signed up to the plan. This is a yearly agreement.

Can I transfer my Service Care Plan if I move to a new house?

Providing your new property remains within our service area, a service care plan can be simply transferred to your new property address. Just let us know of any changes and we will organise all of this for you.

My boiler is over 10 years old, can I still take out this Service Care Plan?

This Service Care Plan covers gas boilers of all ages as long as they are in sufficient working order, and it is suitable to do so.

If your boiler starts to reach the end of its life expectancy, becoming too expensive to repair or replace parts, our experienced engineer will seek to advise you on the best options available to you.
